About Me

My photo
I am a mostly SAHM who is also a nursery/NICU nurse. I got into stamping about 9-10 years ago to pass the time. I have 2 kids (10 and 8) that are both in school full time and a wonderful husband of 14 years. We also have 3 Maine Coon cats that are part of our family. I really enjoy making cards and love learning new techniques. I am hoping to get more cards made now that my room is organized. Now if I could only find where I put everything...

A Little Christmas Cheer

Good morning.  I just wanted to update my blog with a few cards I made back in November.
Where did the time go? Between shopping, baking and holiday things at school, time just slipped by. This in one of my new favorite Christmas themed Kraftin Kimmie's.  Her name is Madeline. I will try to post a few more that I made tomorrow, until then I better get back to wrapping and baking.
 Happy Crafting.

Kraftin Kimmie Challenge 156 Feelin' Festive

Here is my take on the Kraftin Kimmie Feelin' Festive Challenge 156. I made this card for my mom to give to a friend for the holidays.  I got my Christmas present early from her this year.  It was several of the Moonlight Whispers stamps from Kraftin Kimmie. I got them early with the stipulation that I had to make her several cards with them first. Well...one down and a few more to go I guess you could say.  I am planning on crafting all weekend to get her cards made and then maybe make a few for myself to give away at Christmas time. The stamp I decided to start with is Grace.  She is so festive baking her gingerbread men. American Crafts "Merry Mint" paper was used along with SU gumball green ribbon, spellbinders dies and SU border punch. I better get back to my card making before the kids get up. Happy crafting friends.

Halloween is coming....

Cheeky Kitty from the Greeting Farm is one of my favorite digi's they have. Last year I made her into Poison Ivy from Batman.  Sadly I guess I had a little orange ink on my hand and it ended up on her face but I could not trash her. Just think of it as part of her costume.
Speaking of Something Wicked This Way Comes...have you ever seen that movie?  It scared the crap out of me as a kid.  It was made by Disney back in 1983. The thing I remember most was the scary carnival and it's creepy carousel.  It was evidently one of Ray Bradbury's masterminds.  No wonder I was scared.  I actually own a copy of it because I wanted to watch it again as an adult and see if it really was as scary as I thought. I should probably watch it in the daylight when the kids are at school...

SOG Color Inspiration Challenge

I received my Some Odd Girl stamp Sunny Mae the other day and I just had to ink her up.  I love this image.  She is so summery. I ended up making 2 cards.  I messed up on the 1st face and you know how everything else is just perfect and you think I will just add a few freckles...well that did not go to good and when I tried to remove them they smeared her touched up eyes.  Darn it!  Onto the next one.  I actually like her better anyway.  I did case a few of the SOG design teams ideas and meshed them all together and this is what I came up with.  Enjoy.

TGFSC16

Here I go, another challenge to enter. Yay!!  I am trying to pick at least one challenge to do a week.  Then maybe I can work up to a few a week.  Here in Colorado it's been in the upper 80's and 90's.  I must say I am a wimp when it comes to the heat.  I love air-conditioning.
I whipped up this little Greeting Farm sketch challenge card last night.  I finally played with my Cheeky Geeky.  She is so much fun!
I used Jillibean Soup paper called Blossom Soup in a 6x6 pad, then a little Jillibean sentiment and some doodlebug twine.  I colored her with my handy dandy Copic markers and paper pieced the dress.

SC Challenge 18 Bookmarks

It has been forever since I posted last.  The end of the school year just flew by.  We had 2 birthday's to celebrate here.  My daughter turned 9 and my hubby the big "40".  I surprised them both by having his parents come out to surprise them.  Needless to say I got them both good.

My challenge I am doing today is from Saturated Canary. I just love their digi images. Check them out here http://saturatedcanary.blogspot.com My crafting partner in crime Rachel got me hooked.

The digi I choose to do is called Hipster.  She is so my daughter.  Originally I had planned on making this into my daughter's birthday card. Instead it turned into a bookmark for all of her summer reading.

Now that school is out I am really hoping that I can play in my craft room more and get going on more challenges.  Until later Happy Summer and Happy Crafting.

This is SC Hipster.  She is colored in Copic markers.  The flower stickers are a hodge podge of a pile I found in my craft room.  I laminated her with 3M self laminating 4x6 photo thing I had.  I figured she would last longer laminated than not.  Polka dot ribbon from Michaels.

Kraftin Kimmie Challenge 123-Tag Time

I thought I better get busy and try another challenge.  I recently had some "Happy Mail" delivered and low and behold I had some fun new Kraftin Kimmie's to try. I have the "Going Places" set too.  I think that will be next on my list.  I better get my room back together soon.  It looks as though a twister came in and messed it all up again.  I really wish I could just snap my fingers and everything would just go back into its place.  I stamped "Dandy Lion"on a random white tag and played around with my Tim Holtz inks last night. I made quite the mess. Dandy was also Sparkly Fluffed with the color "sugar", around her hair and dress as well as the dandy lion. The saying came from a stamp at Hobby Lobby.  I just love that saying. Now off to see what I have in the fridge for lunch.

The Greeting Farm Challenge Sketch #9

After some "gentle prodding" from a dear friend (wink*you know who you are) I am entering not one but 2 challenges this week.  It was a lot of fun and hopefully I can do a few of these more often. It worked out well that Spring Break was this week.  So here is my Surfer Anya from The Greeting Farm.

Tiddly Inks Challenge #83 Birthday Bash

My dear sweet friend Rachel hosted a play date with me yesterday ( yes the kids came too!) and we decided to do the Tiddly Inks Birthday Bash Challenge.  I just love Tiddly Inks.  Christy Croll  (the owner and creator of everything Tiddly (I borrowed that line.) is having her birthday bash and celebration coming in April.  Be sure to check out the Tiddly Inks web site and challenge blog. I will practice how to add the link here in a bit.  If that won't work I will have to contact my IT department (hey Rachel, I may be calling you later.)  Have a great rest of the week and I'm going to enjoy the last few days of Spring Break.

Everyone Loves Wryn

So far I am not making my New Year's Resolution to post something once a week but here are 2 Wryn digi's from TiddlyInks. She is adorable. I have almost the entire set and I need to get coloring. I used these cards for birthdays this past month.  Now I need to get cracking on my April cards.  Till later...Happy Spring and Crafting.

Silver Valentine

It feels like forever since I have made a card.  I volunteered to be on my children's PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) this year.  Somehow I am the vice president.  At least we have a wonderful core group of ladies that have been helping, but it still takes a lot of time away from my crafting.  We are starting to organize our 1st carnival for the school in a long time so I hope I will be able to sneak a card in here and there.  I applaud all of the past and present PTO/PTA parents.  Hats off to you and all you do for your kids school.

Now with that being said here is my 1st Valentine card of the season.  I'm sure you all will recognize
"Silver Valentine" from Tiddly Inks digitals.  He is so cute.  Wryn is on my list of what to next so hopefully soon I will post a card with her.  She is so cute too.  Until later.  Happy Crafting.

Miss Anya Garland Gate Fold Card

This is my latest card featuring the Miss Anya Garland collection from The Greeting Farm. I colored her with copics that I cased off of Wendy Ramlakhan's blog.  I would be happy to direct you to her site but I have no idea yet how to do that.  This is a birthday card for my friend Rachel who also has a wonderful blog that I will direct link you to soon. Hopefully by this weekend I can figure out how to do that.
I got the paper at Michael's, ribbon at Hobby Lobby and the punch at Archiver's.

Happy New Year!

It's been awhile since I posted last.  Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthdays all seemed to fall together and I did not get much crafting done.  Here are some of my cards that I did last year.  Most of them are from Kraftin Kimmie along with some Greeting Farm.  You might notice a cake in the mix too.  My son's birthday is 3 days after Christmas and this year he wanted a Pirate themed cake.  Since I only had 2 days notice on what he wanted this is the skull and cross bones cake he got. And yes I actually made it.  It's not a cake pan.  It was delicious if I do say so myself.  Thanks for looking at my blog.  One of my resolutions this year is to blog more...maybe once a week?.  Fingers crossed....
